Cyclone engine can power a robotic vehicle using conventional or alternative fuels including biomass materials found and foraged in the wild
Cyclone Power Technologies's CEO Harry Schoell and COO Frankie Fruge were co-presenters with Dr. Robert Finkelstein, President of Robotic Technology Inc., at the Alternative Energy for Defense Conference, sponsored by the Institute for Defense & Government Advancement (IDGA).
Ms. Fruge, Mr. Schoell and Dr. Finkelstein discussed the Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot (EATR), a DARPA-sponsored project to develop and demonstrate an autonomous robotic platform able to perform long-range missions without the need for manual re-fueling.
The Cyclone team explained how the company’s external combustion engine can power a robotic vehicle using either conventional or alternative fuels, including biomass materials found and foraged in the wild. The demonstration of how one engine can run on any fuel has great interest for the military as a way to overcome the expense and complexity of fuel supply and logistics throughout the world.
