Riverside Waste Machinery is to unveil a new concept for the processing of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) substances, at the UK’s biggest recycling and waste management exhibition.

Riverside, the UK’s sole distributor of UNTHA’S waste shredding technology, will partner with the Austrian manufacturer at the RWM (Recycling and Waste Management) exhibition which takes place at the NEC Birmingham, 15-17th September.

Together they will unveil UNTHA’S new TR series of shredders, the first machines of their kind to be offered to the UK’s secondary shredding market.

Renowned for their ability to deliver efficient, professional and complete solutions, Riverside and UNTHA will provide visitor’s with their first insight into the unique features of this high-performance technology.

Users of the new TR series will benefit from:

The satisfaction of environmental obligations – to turn domestic, commercial and industrial waste into alternative fuel sources

High reliability and reduced downtime – quick change cutting system enables easy replacement of cutters in less than 45 minutes compared to a typical 8 hours repair process for traditional machines

Automatic foreign object detection – eliminates damage to the shredder from material not designed to be shredded, reduces down time removing foreign objects and is safer for the operator. With competitors’ machines the operator is required to climb into the machine to scoop out the foreign object
Simplicity of maintenance procedures – ease of accessibility to machine parts for fast servicing

An energy-saving drive system – one of the most energy efficient on the market

Cost and time savings – cheaper per tonne of rubbish giving better return on investment

To celebrate 25 years of the four-shaft shredder, the stand will also play host to the first four-shaft shredder UNTHA ever built.

Speaking about the forthcoming exhibition, Riverside’s managing director Chris Oldfield said: “Whilst we may be in the midst of an economic downturn, these are very interesting times for the waste technology industry.

“EU landfill diversion initiatives are placing unprecedented pressures on central government and in turn the waste management industry who has to find alternative solutions to utilising waste. Those companies who can supply innovative technologies required for effectively processing waste will be in demand.

“We are confident that with UNTHA’S outstanding latest development coupled with our professionalism and expertise we can provide an effective solution; we have already had a very promising number of enquiries about the new TR series and that’s before we’ve properly unveiled it.”
