The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has dedicated the first high solids dry fermentation anaerobic digester (HSAD) in the Americas. On average, 2,320,000 kWh will be generated annually, providing 8 percent of the University’s electricity needs on its campus.
The biogas plant, owned by the University, is designed and constructed by BIOFerm™ Energy Systems, a member of the Viessmann Group.

Verta Energy Generation Limited, the Four Rivers BioEnergy Inc electricity generation subsidiary, has successfully installed and operated its first electricity generator, utilizing the Cummins 1,250 KVA (1MW) diesel generator that it purchased last week and Verta’s customized generator fuel as its feedstock. Verta is planning to progressively install additional generator units in its UK Plant’s Energy Centre in stages.

Viessmann is focussing its presence on biomass at Greenbuild EXPO 2011 on June 29th/30th in Manchester Central. The company will exhibit in the Ignition section of the show (stand F31) following a surge of interest in biomass since the Renewable Heat Incentive announcement in March.
