AlphaKat GmbH and Global Energy, Inc. have conducted a first round of municipal solid waste (MSW) feedstock tests as part of the commissioning phase for AlphaKat’s first-generation, commercial scale KDV 500 waste-to-diesel process. Castor is a plant with an oil content ranging from 46-53%. Global Energy has announced that its subsidiary, Global Energy Ethiopia (GEE), has successfully completed sowing 5,000 hectares of Chinese hybrid castor seeds for its alternative energy project in Ethiopia. Global Energy has reported on a number of tests on the diesel produced by the Company’s technology and plants supplier, AlphaKat GMBH, in Germany. Global Energy has announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understand (MOU) with ShenMu SanJiang Coal Chemical Company Ltd. (“Shaanxi”) located in the People’s Republic of China. Shaanxi is active in the field of converting charcoal to oil and blue coal by pyrolysis reaction (heating coal in an oxygen free atmosphere) in the People’s Republic of China.
