BHSL's new Top Loader stores, moves and dispenses up to 150 tonnes of biomass or other agricultural and waste products per day. It is driven by two 2.2kW motors, which operate via a programmable logic controller (PLC) using BHSL proprietary software.

Oil Firing Technical Association (OFTEC) has published a provisional fuel specification for a bio-liquid blend. Now that a provisional standard has been agreed, oil companies, distributors and government will all be consulted on how to make the fuel commercially available at the right price for consumers. Verso Paper Corp. has announced the launch of a $40 million Renewable Energy Project at its Bucksport, Maine mill. This project will provide a 43% increase in thermal energy production from renewable biomass at the Bucksport Mill and will generate additional green power – equivalent to the amount needed to supply electricity to 30,000 Maine households.
